Original oil on Canvas. 10 x 8 inches. Barle was born in Paris 9th March and his realist paintings place an emphasis on the recreation of transient lighting effects. Listed artist featured in Dictionnaire Des Peintres À Montmatre. £250

 

 

 

Sir William Russell Flint original watercolour entitled "The Girl with the Sickle," signed in full W. Russell Flint and dated MCMXV, also inscribed on the reverse with the artist's address in Bedford Park, London, and a copyright date of October 1st. 1915.

The copyright date indicates that the painting was intended to illustrate a book, probably The Odyssey, which was originally planned as a 2 volume edition (instead of the one volume edition which appears ). £6200
