Sir William Russell Flint original watercolour entitled "The Girl with the Sickle," signed in full W. Russell Flint and dated MCMXV, also inscribed on the reverse with the artist's address in Bedford Park, London, and a copyright date of October 1st. 1915.

The copyright date indicates that the painting was intended to illustrate a book, probably The Odyssey, which was originally planned as a 2 volume edition (instead of the one volume edition which appears ). £6200
